Comparison Kills

"Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each should carry their own load."
Galatians 6:4-5
How many of you all are like me and get stuck in the comparison game? I kept hearing all these moms talk about how organized they have gotten since quarantine life and how clean their houses are. I am over here stepping on Legos and wearing puke as my #ootd every day. It is not just moms. It is business owners, pastors, teenagers seeking validations, marriages, kids, etc. Comparison kills all ages, all people, in all stages of life. In comparing our every day and successes, we often feel like we are failures. Someone will always be prettier, richer, more organized, better parents, I could go on forever. The truth is that if we spend our time comparing our lives to others, we can never give our own the full potential it needs. Most of the time the people we think are thriving, usually have many downfalls as well. God created you to be uniquely you. He created you to be the mom you are, to take care of your kids the way they need. God created you to be the business man or woman you need to be, to give you the ideas for the company to flourish. God created your unique qualities to fulfill what he has for YOU. No one else is you and no one can achieve what God wants for YOU to achieve. Let's stop comparing and start focusing on who God wants us to be.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for creating me just the way I am. Help me to love who you have perfectly designed me to be. I will continue to seek you and in seeking you, may I become a better me to do your work. Give me the confidence I need to do what you have called me to do. Help me to not compare myself to others and to value myself more than I do. In loving myself, I know I can love others more effectively. I love you and thank you for all you do and continue to do in my life and in others. In your son's name, amen.
