Thirsty

"Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst." John 6:35
My husband drinks water like a fish. He NEEDS it and without it, he gets super dehydrated and it makes him physically sick. Oh, and super cranky! Ha!

Imagine this type of need for Jesus. What if we needed Him so bad all the time where it would make us physically sick if we did not have Him. We already physically and spiritually NEED Him, but we seek other things instead of Him. We get so weighted down by life's struggles that we thirst for worldly things like medication, alcohol, people, drugs, work, hobbies..to fill voids in our lives. What if we just stopped and said, "GOD I NEED YOU!" We have made Him such a religion instead of seeking a true relationship with Him. Going to church just to say you go. That is like getting married but never seeing your spouse or talking to them.  God wants your heart and a relationship with you. He wants and yearns for you to spend time with Him. When we get to know Him and His love, we realize that we can trust Him. We then know that no matter where we have been, He still has big promises for us. Once we  realize he is the greatest friend we will ever have, we will truly never thirst again.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, I ask that you consume me and give me the hunger and thirst to need for you more than anything. I want to wake up needing you before I can even start my day. Please forgive me for putting so much in front of you and not letting you consume every area of my heart.  I cannot do anything without you. Thank you for your unfailing love and grace. I love you. In your son's name. Amen.
